People like to go over the top for their weddings. However, there’s a limit to all things. There’s a certain point after which everything seems overwhelming and tacky. While you need to have the wedding of your dreams, you also need for things to be perfect.

Multiple Fonts

The fonts for the words are one of the first things that the guests notice. Don’t make it tacky. Multiple fonts will create chaos especially since there are not a lot of words in that paper. Remember that the invitations are only a small piece of paper. They can’t take too many words and they shouldn’t. Space the words out and make them all even so they look more elegant.

You can have up to two fonts in the invitations. Even that can be pushing it if you’re not careful. The fonts should also adhere to the theme of the wedding. For example, Hindu wedding invitations will always include Hindu scripts and other religious symbols.

Registry Info

The wedding invitations are not the place to put any registry information or other mentions of gifts. These are simply supposed to serve as a notice of your wedding. They contain only the most necessary details. The registry information should go somewhere else. You may want to skip it unless guests specifically ask for it.

You may include registry information and other related notes on the reply card. The card that the guest will send to you is the only one that needs to be interactive. That’s the paper people look at if they really want to come to the wedding. The invitation should remain an invitation to the wedding.

If you’re having trouble figuring out what to include and what not to include in the invitations, try looking at samples online. You can personalize them and make the perfect one for your wedding.
